For AES Ohio solar installers / Level 1 pilot
AES Ohio Level 1 applications, without the paperwork spiral.
When an application comes back, corrections can consume the day. We're developing focused support for returned residential interconnection applications so small installers can get back to the job.
Pilot in development. Please do not send application files, customer details, or portal credentials by email.
Installer conversations are open. Application intake is not. We're confirming AES Ohio's third-party process before handling any case.
The problem
A correction is more than one form.
A returned notice can send the same job back through document checks, signatures, and utility review. We're testing a narrow workflow around that handoff.
01 / NOTICE
Understand the return
Translate the utility's comments into a clear list of what needs attention.
02 / PACKET
Check the correction
Review the paperwork for missing or inconsistent items before the next submission.
03 / HANDOFF
Keep your team in control
You review the corrected packet and keep the homeowner relationship.
Proposed pilot scope
One specific job, clear boundaries.
The proposed pilot is limited to AES Ohio Level 1 residential applications at or below 25 kW AC. Correction and resubmission support depends on confirmed authorization.
What we're testing
- Review of a returned notice and application checklist
- Identification of missing or inconsistent filing materials
- Correction support and, if permitted, resubmission coordination
What remains yours
- System design, equipment, installation, and customer relationship
- Required signatures, stamps, permits, and approvals
- Final review of any corrected application
Before the first case
We won't pretend the intake is ready before it is.
We are speaking with installers now to understand the recurring problems. We will invite a small number of cases only after the process below is verified.
- Confirm utility permissionsVerify third-party PowerClerk access, authorization, and current AES Ohio filing requirements.
- Set up secure intakeDefine how applications and customer information can be shared safely.
- Open a limited pilotInvite eligible cases and review the process with the installer before work begins.
We cannot guarantee approval or a review date. AES Ohio controls its review process.
